What started as a hobby has become a wonderful and blooming business. I take pride and great joy in creating products that will be beneficial to each one of you and your family. At Barb’s Cottage Creations I handcraft my soaps using the Cold process method and Hot process method. All of my home made soap and bath products are hand crafted in small batches to ensure you are receiving a high quality product therefore not all batches are the same they may very in color and pattern and size depending on the cut and drying time. I do offer a wide variety of unique handcrafted soaps. Unlike other expensive designer soaps, my soaps do not contain harsh chemicals. My specialty is providing you with an all natural soap or 97% natural soap or bath product. The Cold Process method has a short prep time and a long cure time. The cure time (4-6 weeks) but a long cure is necessary to produce the best quality. This is how long it takes for the water to completely evaporate, resulting in a harder, longer lasting bar of soap. One misconception about Cold Process cure time is that the soap is unsafe to use within the 4-6 week time frame because it hasn’t “saponified” yet. Saponification is the chemical reaction between fats, lye & water that produces the substance we call soap! It actually only takes about 2 days for saponification to complete. So technically, you can use your soap after 2 days, but to maintain a proper ph balance and for the soap to harden I like for my Cold process soap to age at least 5 weeks before use and also in doing this we achieve a milder soap. “Aging” your soap is definitely encouraged. In the Hot process method I use crock pots and cook the soap until the lye is cooked completely and the saponification process had taken place and then let it cure on drying racks for 1 week to harden. It is highly recommended also that in between each use of handmade soap that you let it dry in a dish or rack to ensure for a longer lasting bar of soap. Some of the carrier Oils that I use in all of my soaps are Coconut Oil, Palm Oil, Castor Oil, Olive Oil, these oils are saponified and then I use Vitamin E, Extra Virgin first press cold press Olive Oil, Glycerin, Organic coconut oil and Shea Butter for moisturizing factors. There are a few recipes that I use that have a carrier oil of tallow in which I find with this recipe to be a very hard bar of soap mainly the Snow white skin care bar does contain tallow. Please take time to see ingredient list for each product. Refund, Returns and Cancellation Policies: I guarantee 100% satisfaction with my products.
